Lima, OH
We veered off of the 1913 route of the Lincoln Highway and made our way to Lima, Ohio on the newer 1928 route. As I mentioned earlier, Lima is also on the eastern (and more direct) route of the Dixie Highway, Carl Fisher's second highway brainchild intended to connect the north to Miami Beach and Carl's extensive real estate holdings. Lima has a rich history. It is the seat of Allen County and was part of the oil boom of northwest Ohio in the 1880s. Most of our time in Lima was spent in the excellent Allen Museum.
